Krizta Moon is a certified Music Therapist, an award winning singer/songwriter, and a performing and recording artist.  Her music has delighted audiences of all ages throughout New England for the past decade. For these fun filled music and movement classes, Krizta will accompany herself on guitar, drums, and piano as the children begin to dance and sing along to their favorite songs in a creative and supportive environment.

Krizta Moon Simpson  graduated from SUNY New Paltz, with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Music Therapy in 2001.  She completed her music therapy internship at the Southbury Training School of Southbury CT, and is a Board Certified Music Therapist, registered with the AMTA (American Music Therapy Association).  Over the past 4 years she has been a vocal instructor and has also taught Songwriting for the Warner Theatre in Torrington, CT.  She has been practicing Music therapy since 2001 with a variety of clients ranging from small children with disabilities, troubled teenagers to adults with acquired brain injuries.  She has been performing as a singer songwriting throughout New England since the mid-90’s and has won special awards for her songs that include writing a theme song for the 3 time Emmy award winning documentary film by captured Time Productions, “Loop Dreams”.

What is Music Therapy?

Music therapists use music creatively to help their clients address social, emotional or physical problems.  Music therapists seek to establish an interaction - a shared musical experience - in the pursuit of therapeutic goals. These goals are determined by the therapist's understanding of the client's pathology and personal needs.  Music therapists assess emotional well-being, physical health, social functioning, communication abilities, and cognitive skills through musical responses; design music sessions for individuals and groups based on client needs using music improvisation, receptive music listening, song writing, lyric discussion, music and imagery, music performance, and learning through music; participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning, ongoing evaluation, and follow up.

For additional information or to set up a consultation, please contact:

ZUMBA GOLD

Zumba is exhilarating!  Zumba is fun!   This new, one-of-a kind fitness workout fuses Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow dance moves to create a calorie-burning, body energizing movement to music experience.

Zumba Gold is designed to be suitable for the active older adult, for the true beginner (deconditioned participant) who needs a motivating start, or anyone who wants to add some moderate heart thumping exercise excitement to their usual routine.

Zumba Gold classes will be available at A Healing Trail in Harwinton, CT.   They will be taught by certified personal trainer Barbara Azar.  Prior to establishing her current private practice which specializes in helping women over 50 become the best they can be, Barbara taught aerobic dancing for many years.  It was moving to music that first got her interested in exercise in general and, more recently, in Zumba in particular.  Barbara is excited about sharing this passion with her Zumba Gold classes at A Healing Trail.

We are trying to plan the best time for everyone - let Barbara know.

 ZERO BALANCING

 ZERO BALANCING I I

ZB II will be held soon

ABOUT ZERO BALANCING:

Zero Balancing (ZB) is a unique, hands on, body-mind system of healing.  Combining Eastern and Western concepts of healing and anatomy, ZB clarifies and coordinates energy fields in the body by accessing the deepest currents – in the bones and joints.  ZB offers the opportunity to work with expanded states of consciousness and to address the energetic field imbalances that precede illness.
Zero Balancing promotes a clear state of balance, which helps relieve pain, promotes health and healing and a foundation for happiness. ZB also reduces stress related tension, deepens self-awareness, and brings a person closer to their true nature.

BENEFITS OF STUDY:

ZB I students learn to navigate the energetic and structural anatomies of the body’s foundational structures and explore the body’s consciousness through touch.  On completion of the class, ZB I practitioners will have the basic skills needed to integrate ZB into their established work and also to practice full Zero Balancing sessions.   Health care practitioners using Zero Balancing skills find themselves able to serve their clients/patients more completely, work with less effort, and feel greater satisfaction.  ZB principles and skills can be integrated into many types of health care practices including but not limited to Massage Therapy, Acupuncture, Physical Therapy, Chiropractic, Nursing, Psychotherapy, Osteopathy, Medicine and Naturopathic Medicine.

EVERY STUDENT WILL RECEIVE A ZB SESSION FROM TEACHER OR CERTIFIED ASSISTANT – ADDED VALUE  $85!

TUITION : $595,

ZB principles are richly complimentary to all other healing modalities.

Please register with Verilee Herpich, RN, LMT, ZB faculty at 860-491-9228.
